I’ll be honest with you … I don’t have a grand life purpose or this one BIG DREAM that I’m desperate to make a reality.
I’m not here to "empower 15 million women to harness their inner transformative essence."
I’m just a girl who wants to make a lot of money while having fun.
Every career move I’ve ever made has been an experiment. How else would I know if something’s right unless I try it? You can’t just vibe-check a career from watching a movie — you have to jump in.
Last year, I applied for 100 marketing jobs without any luck. The UK job market is brutal — people on LinkedIn were literally begging for jobs, #desperate was trending, and I felt it.
Instead of wallowing, I thought: “Why keep chasing what doesn’t want me? Let me try something new.”
The next day, 'real estate agent' came to my mind. There was something about real estate that just felt right. It’s that visceral pull I get when I just know I need to explore it.
So that same day, I printed out copies of my CV, marched into every estate agent office along the high streets, sat down, and pitched myself as someone worth hiring.
At first, I was working on Saturdays only. Then, early this year, I was offered a full-time role as a sales negotiator, paying a £30K base salary plus commission (average commission being £1,000).
Of course, I said yes.
