How on earth I became a real estate agent in central London
And added a 6th slash to my slash career + how much I made in November.
I got myself a Saturday job, and I’m having way too much fun.
It’s like being 19 again—your first job, everything’s thrilling, and the whole world is ahead of you.
My career is less of a ladder and more of an experiment in capitalism — career promiscuity, if you will.
And honestly? I secretly love it.
If you’re new to Slash Career —Welcome!— this is where I share the unconventional ways I make money and the equally unconventional ways I see the world.
I believe that work is not a place — it’s an activity.
I also believe that most people work for income rather than the work itself.
So instead of working at work, I prefer to go straight to the end goal of generating income. I talk about different ways I make money here, here, and here.
Last month, I made £3,400, which sits nicely between my "bad month" (£2,000) and my "good month" (£4,500). Here’s how I made it:
Sponsored content on Lucky Attitude (my first-born, still the most reliable stream)
Google Ads on my blogs, Lucky Attitude and Slasher Career (cha-ching—100% passive income)
Real estate job (4-5 days a month, covers my bills + mortgage)
Levi’s vintage jeans sales on Etsy (a new venture that’s starting to take off. Will tell you all about it soon)
TV extra work (unpredictable but lucrative)
Substack subscriptions (thanks to all of you for proving that good writing pays)
For someone who spends lots of time working from a friend’s apartment in Paris or taking last-minute trips to Spain for a change of scenery, I think I live a charmed life.
I’m actually writing this from a train to the Cotswolds (for my American readers, that’s where The Holiday was filmed), heading for a pre-Christmas getaway of hiking and watching movies with my friend.
I live a rich life—not in a material sense, but in freedom. To me, this type of freedom feels like winning £5 million would for someone else.
How I landed a real estate job (without experience or a driving license)
