In 2022, my partner and I bought our first home in London – a centrally located, ex-council one-bedroom flat in Bermondsey.
It’s a 12-minute walk to Tower Bridge and a 30-minute walk to Tate Modern – the dream location for us, vibrant city dwellers.
Council homes aren't what people think.
There’s a lot of outdated thinking about council properties in the UK. People often overlook them, assuming they’re run-down or in bad areas.
