Hey 👋, I’m Tanya Mimi and I share my entrepreneurial journey and unconventional ways I make money — pop your email below to ensure you receive my posts.
I wrote about how I manifested my income from £1,000 to £4,000 every month (read the article here), but I haven't reached £5,000 yet.
And I think I know why:
I'm content with what I have.
To manifest successfully, we need a reason (a strong desire) for the money we want.
I haven't thought of anything exciting to use the extra £1,000 for — except the dull notion of saving for 'rainy days'.
In 2022 and 2023, I wanted to renovate my home (£15K), take driving lessons (£2K), obtain British citizenship (£1.5K), receive monthly massages (£1K a year), and rent a work studio for my business (£7.2K a year).
I managed all the above earning an average of £4K a month.
The most I made was £4,611.
How did I do it?
Apart from consistently working on my blogs for years (I've been running Lucky Attitude since 2013) I visualised every goal by concentrating on the feeling of having achieved it:
The feeling of living in an aesthetically beautiful home that feels calm and safe (the real reason for home renovation).
The feeling of spending extended time (4-5 months) abroad while still maintaining a base in England (the real reason for British citizenship).
That feeling of freedom to go on a road trip in the summer and discover more of England independently (the real reason for wanting a driving license).
The feeling of having a messy and creative space of my own (the real reason for wanting a work studio).
Once I got the feels, the money followed.
It would never work the other way around:
Dreams fuel my visualisation, not the digits in my bank account.
What I am dreaming about
It's April 2024, and I'm only beginning to gather momentum.
This year, I closed my vintage business, started this Substack, and began the process of setting up a jeans business on Etsy.
There are 3 things I want to achieve in the 5 years:
Dream 1
My girlfriend and I want to buy a bigger home that feels more like us. We are drawn to ex warehouses and unusual expansive spaces like this:
Or this ex school conversion near Regent's Park:
Dream 2:
I want to divide my time between London and Sydney (my girlfriend is Australian).
Every year, I want to spend the coldest 3-4 months in sunny Australia, all the while working from my laptop.
I'd love to do a house swap with someone in Sydney who wants to live in our London home during the winter, 👋 (winters in Europe are magical, promise).
This dream requires both of us to have a good financial setup and a steady income, which we are working towards.
Dream 3:
My ultimate goal is to live without reliance on traditional employment.
This is something I've viscerally felt since my first job in journalism aged 22.
By “traditional employment” I mean the stereotypical office roles that the middle class clings to for financial security.
I have an inherent disdain for authority.
Being told what to do doesn't sit well with me.
I'm not a great team player because I believe my ideas are the best 😎
I hate pretending I'm there for any other reason than the money.
Besides, my part-year Australian residence wouldn't work with full-time employment.
So there you have it. My dreams are now out in escrow, awaiting the right conditions to materialise 🙏🏼
I believe in the power of shared manifestation and collective encouragement.
So, I invite you to describe one dream you're passionately working towards. It doesn't matter how big or small it is.
Let's dream together 🦄
Love this!
I love these dreams! That Wollongong beach looks heavenly!
